Dr. Norton has over 25 years experience working with children and adolescents in Alaskan schools, medical settings, and private practice. Dr. Norton has extensive experience evaluating children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders including learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, nonverbal learning disabilities,fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, developmental delays, and traumatic brain injury. Dr. Norton has extensive experience working with children and adolescents in ABA (Autism Spectrum Disorder) programs.
Dr. Norton was 20 years experience as a School Psychologist and School Neuropsychologist in both urban and rural/bush school districts in Alaska. Dr Norton has extensive knowledge of special education eligibility criteria as well as federal and state laws and regulations. He is thus able to provide schools with the evaluation results they require in order to establish your child's eligibility for special education services, if warranted.
Dr. Norton was an Adjunct Professor of Psychology with the University of Alaska for 11 years. Dr. Norton was Clinical Neuropsychologist for the Regional Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Diagnostic Clinic for five years.
